The Hair Peace 5K is designed to raise funds and bring awareness to Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD) and other Autoimmune Conditions that result in devastating hair loss.
The proceeds raised will be used to pay for hair prosthesis (wigs), and other services for individuals who are affected by an autoimmune condition, including cancer.

Dr. Venessa “Dr. V” Walker is a Chiropractic Physician, minister, educator and owner of Walker Chiropractic and Wellness Center. She has been in the chiropractic field for over 14 years – 7 years as a Chiropractic Physician with advanced training in sports.
She began her healthcare career by attending a local Medical Magnet Program while in high school. After which, Dr. V earned a Bachelor's of Bio-Medical Science degree from the University of South Florida. She then immediately enrolled in Palmer College of Chiropractic in Central Florida where she earned a Doctorate of Chiropractic at the age of 25.
Dr. V is the co-author of “Getting Well: Mind, Body and Spirit. A Guide to Healing and Healthy Living in Every Area of Your Life”. She currently travels internationally empowering individuals through her program "Transform YOUR Life" and encourages us to make our health a priority - which aids in accomplishing greatness. She is on a mission to help her patients reach their optimal health through chiropractic care and lifestyle changes.
Dr. V is also a member of The Links - Fort Lauderdale Chapter and has received numerous accolades, both locally and nationally. She is passionately involved in her community and actively participates in the following capacities:

Women of H.O.P.E. (Health Occupations Promoting Education) will be hosting HAIR PEACE 5K RUN/WALK at the Miramar Regional Park on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 7am. The main goal of this run/walk is to help bring awareness and support to those who live with autoimmune diseases that result in devastating hair loss. This life changing event aims to bring people together to celebrate the lives of those currently battling an auto-immune disease, remember loved ones lost, and help to raise funds for hair prostheses (wigs) for women and men with hair loss due to an autoimmune disease(s). We invite walkers, runners, joggers, and rollers (baby strollers and wheelchairs) of all ages to come out and participate.
